FishbowlNY isn’t sure who eats at places like the Hard Rock Cafe. Maybe they’re people who like their music history with a side of ranch dressing. Maybe they’re people who wanted to go to a good restaurant and somehow got lost and ended up there. Maybe they’re people who have simply given up on life.
Whoever they are, Rolling Stone is counting on them to frequent their restaurant when it opens in Los Angeles in a few months. And they’re the same people who the magazine is counting on to buy more Rolling Stone branded stuff, because it’s now seeking out new licensing opportunities.
The latest report is that the magazine is going to branch out into electronics and gaming, which begs the question: At what point does putting your name on crap begin to tarnish the brand?
