Shutterstock Adds European Office

The run of impressive 2013 press for Shutterstock, a licensed photo and vector service that Mediabistro subscribes to, continues.

Following Slate’s recent mini-investigation of company founder Jonathan Oringer‘s three-comma status, there is news about Shutterstock’s latest move: the addition of a European headquarters office in Berlin. NextWeb reporter Martin Bryant leads off his article with the mention that Shutterstock currently licenses three images per second.

In the accompanying video interview, Oringer tells Bryant that 75% of the firm’s business is international and explains how they are learning how to make dynamic use of the the site’s granular search activity, which currently occurs in 20 different languages.

Shutterstock also recently closed out the entry period for its $75,000 grant program Shutterstock Stories. All in all, a New York tech sector company that merits continued close attention.
