Stephen Colbert Named S.C. ”Favorite Son”
FishbowlNY frenemy and Mediabistro Golden Boa award winner Stephen Colbert — who is polling above the sitting Governor of the Great State of New Mexico — was declared South Carolina’s “Favorite Son,” a roundhouse slap in the face of first-tier Democratic party candidate John Edwards, who also was born in The Palmetto State. From The State:
”Colbert, who grew up in Charleston, received the key to the city from Columbia Mayor Bob Coble, who also proclaimed Colbert South Carolina’s favorite son.
”… Before and after the event, the crowd was encouraged to sign a petition to place Colbert’s name on the Democratic primary ballot.”
