As of June 13, writer-director Rod Lurie (The Contender, Commander in Chief) is on Twitter. The one-time LA film critic has apparently recognized the importance of interacting on social media, especially when you have dared to remake a Sam Peckinpah classic like Straw Dogs (Lurie’s version, with James Marsden and Kate Bosworth, comes out in September).

One of Lurie’s very first tweets predicted that a new level of stardom will greet another one of his remake’s co-stars, Alexander Skarsgård, best known for the role of Eric Northman on HBO’s smoldering vampire series True Blood.
