How’s this for a handsome couple?

On the left is our indefatigable “Lunch” columnist Diane Clehane. On the right, New York Post columnist Richard Johnson, back at the Big Apple juicy-bites biz after a sojourn on the west coast. The two got together last week at Michael’s at the behest of Niche Media entertainment editor-in-chief Catherine Sabino.

“For their upcoming [May/June] “Women’s Power” issue, Gotham magazine asked me to select someone to have lunch with at Michael’s and they would report on our chat,” Clehane explains. “I invited Richard, who I’ve met of course at Michael’s but have never had the opportunity to lunch with. We’ve never really spoken at length, but he was game to do this which was great because he never does press.”

Three Editorial Changes at Niche Media

Niche Media, publisher of Gotham, Hamptons, Los Angeles Confidential, Ocean Drive and more, has made several editorial changes. According to the New York Post, Samantha Yanks — most recently editor-in-chief of Gotham — has been promoted to executive fashion editor. Yanks has been with Niche Media since 2004. She took over as editor of Gotham in 2009.

Catherine Sabino, who has been executive editor of Niche Media since 2011, is succeeding Yanks as editor-in-chief of Gotham. Prior to her time at Niche, Sabino was a contributing editor to PrivatAir and before that she was the editorial director of Forbes Special Interest Publiscations for over 10 years.

Laurie Brookins, who has held various top editorial positions at Niche Media since 2005, has been named fashion editor-at-large. She will be responsible for editing a variety of the company’s magazines.

Forbes Names Daughter Publisher Of New Women’s Spinoff

moira_forbes_053007.jpgWe first heard about the planned launch of a ForbesLife spinoff aimed at executive women at Michael’s last week. Now comes word that Steve Forbes‘ daughter Moira, currently the associate publisher of ForbesLife, will be publisher of the new launch. (Catherine Sabino will serve as editor.)

The magazine, called ForbesLife Executive Woman, is slated to debut in October.

Forbes group president and publisher James Berrien said: “Moira Forbes is the perfect publisher for this venture, having helped mightily in building the success and growth of ForbesLife over the past three years. Equally important, she is a successful and rising female executive within the company. Her insight and efforts will prove extremely valuable as we launch this great new publication.”
