KNX 1070 Showcases America’s Safest City

There is probably no better Southern California AM radio synergy today than the fact that the latest installment of the ongoing “KNX On Your Corner” series is being broadcast from an Irvine Corner Bakery Cafe franchise. Following news anchors Dick Helton and Vicky Moore this morning, Frank Mottek will host “The KNX Business Hour” there from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by news anchors Diane Thompson and Chris Sedens, on-site live until 7 p.m.

Layoffs at KFWB and KNX

FordsssRadio.jpgAccording to Radio Ink, CBS Radio laid off anchors, reporters, and other staffers at News KFWB and KNX in Los Angeles on Friday. KFWB’s Orange County and Long Beach news bureaus will be closed.

Reportedly axed were Orange County bureau chief Lori Kelman, Jennifer Bauman, Sharon Katchen, anchors Larry Carroll and John Darin and reporters Lonnie Lardner, Dirk Morgan, Chris Sedens, Michael Forest, and Christine Villacorte, and others.
