Eminem Raps About Social Media

Rapper-reporter Sway Calloway has known Eminem since the 1990s, a fact that helped lend an extra layer of comfort to the pair’s Sirius XM Town Hall chat. The conversation premiered Tuesday on the Shade 45 channel and will repeat through the week and into the weekend.

At one point, Calloway asked Eminem how – just like the rest of us – he deals with Twitter heckling. The rapper’s answer:

“I really try not to pay attention. Put it this way, I want to keep my finger on the pulse of what’s going on, so I don’t want to be ignorant in that sense. But at the same time, I can’t pay attention to what everyone is saying.”

Super Bowl Ad: Chrysler Attempts Some Media Criticism, Fails Miserably

Just a thought or two on the Chrysler Super Bowl ad that supposedly reduced all of Detroit to tears. We’re tempted to ramble on for a few thousand words, but in an attempt to be pithy, we’ll start by summing up our thoughts in one word: BULLSHIT! Chrysler helped build Detroit and then ransacked it, with a little help from the New York financial world.

Putting aside the fact that Chrysler is now an Italian company, owned by Fiat, we’d like to correct Eminem by noting, actually, building cars isn’t what Detroit does anymore. We all wish they still did. But Detroit has been shedding auto jobs since the 80′s.

Heeb Hobbled By Publisher Problems?

1456.jpgOn March 31, Rebecca Wiener, editorial director at Heeb, the quarterly magazine aimed at fashionable young Jews, emailed friends and colleagues last week to inform them she was leaving Heeb to “pursue other opportunities.” While she didn’t specify her reasons for leaving, several insiders surmise that she’s the latest in a string of staffers who’ve left due to personality conflicts with Heeb publisher Joshua Neuman.
