AOL Promotes Allie Kline to CMO

AOL logo GAOL has promoted Allie Kline to chief marketing officer. Kline was most recently CMO of AOL Platforms. She will continue to oversee that division in her new role.

Kline joined AOL last year from 33Across, where she also served as CMO.

“Allie Kline has been a driving force in the growth of AOL’s media, advertising and publisher solutions platforms,” said Tim Armstrong, AOL’s CEO, in a statement. “Allie is an award-winning marketing strategist helping to fundamentally reshape the future of the company.”

In related news, Erika Nardini, CMO of AOL Advertising, is leaving the company “to pursue other opportunities at the end of the year,” according to the release.

AOL Advertising Names CMO

Erika Nardini has been promoted from AOL’s VP of marketing solutions to chief marketing officer of AOL Advertising. With the move, Nardini becomes AOL Advertising’s first CMO.

Jim Norton, senior VP of AOL Advertising, wrote in a post announcing the promotion that Nardini now “takes on AOL’s entire Marketing Solutions operation, spanning creative services, product marketing, co-creation and program development.”

Nardini joined AOL in January. She came to the company from Demand Media, where she most recently served as its senior VP of sales and marketing.

AOL has named Erika Nardini vice president, head of marketing solutions, for AOL Advertising. Nardini was most recently with Demand Media, where she served as senior vice president of sales and marketing since 2010. Prior to that, she was vice president of packaging and solutions with Yahoo.

“Erika is an industry leader having worked at major digital brands in key marketing roles,” said Jim Norton, senior vice president of AOL Advertising, in a statement. “I am excited to have her join the advertising leadership team as we continue to deliver high value solutions to our advertising and agency partners. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this critical role.”

Nardini will be based in New York and report to Norton.
