Tomorrow night at 5 p.m., the stars of FOX 11 news will not be Jeff Michael, Laura Diaz, sports anchor Liz Habib and meteorologist Pablo Pereira. Rather, for that hour, the group will be temporarily overshadowed by the on-air prowess of Jeff Hall and Grant Van Zevern.

After months of anticipation and various on-air teases, LA’s FOX affiliate is finally debuting its redesigned news set, created by the leading firm Jeff Hall Design Inc. The primary designer was Hall together with associate designer van Zevern.

Porn Star Takes Blame for LAFD Scandal


Charley Chase, the porn star in the middle of the Los Angeles Fire Department scandal, said Friday the firefighters had no clue as to what she was going to do.

Chase was interviewed by FOX 11′s Jeff Michael, explaining that the Venice Station 63 fire truck just happened to be parked and the firefighters were unable to see what she was doing from their vantage point.

How classy of Chase for attempting to get the firefighters off the hook. Classy and porn star — that’s something you don’t hear very often.

Jeff Michael to Anchor New KTTV Newscast

Jeff Michael will anchor KTTV’s new 5 p.m. newscast starting on Monday, according to Gary Lycan.

Joining Michael are reporters Liz Habib and Ed Laskos and entertainment anchor Lisa Breckenridge.

Chris Lemire will serve as executive producer of the hourlong broadcast.

Michael has been at KTTV since 1998 as weekend news anchor and weekday reporter after spending eight years at KABC-TV.

Taking the Temperature of Internet Trolls

KTTV Fox 11 anchor Jeff Michael shared a report this week about the ongoing problem of Internet trolls, people who devote their time and energy to defaming and insulting others via the Web.

One victim, Progenex CEO Darren Meade, claimed that a business competitor hired a “professional” troll to defame him. Sure enough, if you Google Meade’s name, the dominant results point to all sorts of very personal sounding attacks.
