Meredith Makes Four Big Promotions

Meredith Corporation has made a few fairly big promotions today. Below are the details.

  • Christine Guilfoyle has been promoted to VP/group publisher, overseeing Allrecipes, Every Day with Rachael Ray, and EatingWell. She reports to Tom Witschi, the executive VP/president of Meredith Women’s Lifestyle Group.
  • Linda Fears has tacked VP onto her role as editor-in-chief of Family Circle. Fears has been the editor of the magazine for the past eight years. Fears will also continue as editorial director of Meredith’s Food Content Center of Excellence. Fears continues to report to Jim Carr, executive VP and President of Family Circle.
  • Cheryl Brown has been named editor-in-chief of Allrecipes magazine. Brown most recently served as editorial director of Recipe.com. Brown will report to Fears.
  • Britta Cleveland has been promoted to senior VP, research solutions. Cleveland has been with Meredith in 2004, most recently serving as VP, research solutions. She continues to report to Nancy Weber, executive VP/CMO.

Meredith Promotes Tony Imperato

Meredith Corporation has promoted Tony Imperato from associate publisher, sales, to vice president, publisher, of Better Homes and Gardens. Imperato has been with Meredith since 2005. Prior to serving as associate publisher at Better Homes and Gardens, Imperato was publisher of Country Home.

“Tony brings tremendous passion, leadership and enthusiasm along with a sharp focus on business growth to his role,” said Tom Harty, president of Meredith National Media Group. “This unique combination of talents, as well as his exceptional focus on teamwork, has produced a winning strategy for the brand and his team.”

Imperato will continue to report to Jim Carr, president of Better Homes and Gardens.

Ladies’ Home Journal Names Associate Publisher, Marketing

Jodi Marchisotta has been promoted to Associate Publisher, Marketing, for Ladies’ Home Journal. Marchisotta was most recently Director of Marketing at Fitness, where she had been since last year. Before joining Meredith, she was the Associate Publisher, Marketing for the Fairchild Fashion Group.

Jim Carr, Executive Vice President and President of Ladies’ Home Journal, said that Marchisotta will be a great addition.

“Jodi has a passion for creating and executing innovative 360-degree programs. I feel confident her expertise will be vital as Ladies’ Home Journal continues to grow across multiple platforms and in the experiential marketplace.”

Meredith Expands, Adds to Leadership

Meredith National Media Group has promoted and added to its leadership team. The four promotions include Gayle Butler to Executive Vice President & Group Creative Content Leader and Editor-in-Chief of Better Homes and Gardens, Jim Carr to Exectutive Vice President & President, Better Homes and GardensCarey Witmer to Executive Vice President & President, Parents Network, and Liz Schimel to Executive Vice President & Chief Digital Officer.

Dick Porter is also joining Meredith National Media Group as Executive Vice President & President, Media Sales. Porter was most recently CEO of the Publishing Group of America.

Butler, Carr, Witmer, Schimel and Porter will all report directly to Tom Harty, President of Meredith National Media Group.
