UK Newspaper Pair Challenge New York ‘World Fashion Capital’ Ranking

Lisa Armstrong is fashion editor for London’s Telegraph newspaper, a contributing editor to Vogue and the owner of Twitter handle @LisaDoesFashion. When she and an equally well-qualified colleague in town for New York Fashion Week – Telegraph deputy fashion editor Luke Leitch - question a recent NYC world ranking, it’s worth paying attention to.

In case you missed it, a survey by Austin, TX-based outfit The Global Language Monitor recently crowned Manhattan ahead of Paris, London and Milan as the world’s top fashion capital. Armstrong and Leitch break down the necessary elements for such NYC legitimacy, based on their time here at NYFW 2014. Starting with the number of truly fabulous runway shows:

Loop21 Names Lisa Armstrong Editor-in-Chief

Lisa Armstrong has been named the new editor-in-chief of the Sherman Oaks-based African American news site Loop2.com. Armstrong is a veteran freelancer with a wealth of international reporting experience. She spent a year in Haiti reporting on the aftermath of the tragic 2010 eatherquake, under a grant from The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.

“Lisa brings a global perspective, cutting-edge editorial talent and strong leadership skills to Loop21,” Loop21 CEO & founder Darrell Williams said in a release. “With her guidance we will continue to build a brand of exceptional quality that looks beyond the headlines in order to provide our audience with interesting insights and that engages all American voices.
