Michael Moore’s Unchosen One

CNN didn’t select Michael Moore’s YouTube’d question in Monday night’s presidential debate. Lucky for him, HuffPo let him post it on the site, along with a big, sparkly plug for Sicko.

We’re awaiting the candidate’s YouTube responses. Or at least a “What up?” from the snowman.

Michael Moore Cancels Press Conference, Goes for Labor Rally Instead

sicko-poster-425.jpg

Why have a press conference when you can get reporters to go to a rally? The Weinsteins, perhaps nervous about pesky questions about the “leaked” and “pirated” versions of Michael Moore’s Sicko, cancelled the press conference and invited journalists to the LA Rally for Healthcare Reform organized by the California Labor Federation. City Hall steps Tuesday, June 26 at 11am. From the press release:

Sicko Pirated, Weinsteins Feel Queasy

Former Fisbbowler Claude Brodesser-Akner regales Ad Age readers with the Weinsteins’ collective woes over Sicko. Michael Moore’s documentary has been pirated, and is being downloaded all over the ‘net. In fact, Claude did it himself. Come and get him, coppers.

Moore’s big worry isn’t that the Feds are going to confiscate his film, but rather who’ll pay to see it now?

A number of commenters point out that downloading movies before the release date isn’t exactly breaking news. Scofflaws.

FBLA EXCLUSIVE: Getting Sick With Jonathan Cohn

sickcover.jpgJonathan Cohn has been hailed by Slate — in an E-Street inspired article — as the future of health care punditry. And today Cohn, a senior editor at The New Republic, will tell impressionable young health care journos how to write a book at a conference at Universal City Walk.

“It’ll be more about how not to write a book — or at least about how not to spend five years the way I did,” he told FBLA.

In true form, the self-described procrastinator is expected to see his book for the first time today — just in time for his talk.

The rest of us will have to wait until April 10 for Cohn’s Harper Collins tome, entitled, Sick: The Untold Story of America’s Health Care Crisis — And The People Who Pay The Price.
