Forbes Makes Four Editorial Moves

forbes_logo_mainForbes has announced four editorial appointments. Details are below.

  • Miguel Helft has been named San Francisco bureau chief. Helft comes to the magazine from Fortune, where he served as a senior writer, covering technology. He previously worked as a tech writer for The New York Times.
  • Loren Feldman joins Forbes as a senior editor of the title’s entrepreneurs coverage. Feldman was most recently small business editor at the Times.
  • Josh Robinson will oversee the creation and management of sponsored editorial packages. Robinson was formerly a digital editor for the Times’ Travel section.
  • Thomas Fox-Brewster is joining as a staff writer in Forbes’ London office. Brewster was most recently a freelancer for The Times, The Guardian, WIRED UK and more.

NY Press Club Award Winners Announced

The 2014 New York Press Club Award winners have been announced, with Steven Brill taking home the most prestigious honor — the Gold Keyboard. Brill won for his Time piece “Bitter Pill: Why Our Medical Bills Are Killing Us.” The winners will be celebrated at a ceremony June 9 at the Water Club.

As for organizations, The Wall Street Journal has bragging rights. It won the most awards with nine. Bloomberg News (which included Businessweek, Bloomberg Radio, WBBR and Bloomberg Television) was the runner-up with eight awards. Time came in third with six.

Miguel Helft Departs The New York Times for Fortune

Andy Serwer, Fortune magazine’s Managing Editor, just announced that Miguel Helft is joining the magazine as a Senior Writer. Helft will be stationed in San Francisco and cover technology and Silicon Valley for the magazine.

He had a similar role at the Times, where he wrote pieces about Facebook, Google and more.
