Rene Rodriguez has been named the new vice president of digital media for Viacom International Media Networks The Americas–covering Latin America, US Hispanic and Canada. Rodriguez will be charged with spearheading the development of digital content for MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and Vh1, across the region, as well as for Tr3s; MTV, Música y Mas in the US.
He comes to Viacom from the WWE, where he was senior director of digital business development. Previously, Rodriguez spent some time in LA as the director of business development at media firm Hey Anita!. His new gig will be based in Miami, where he’ll report to VIMN executive vice president and chief operating officer Scot McBride.
