The Daily Show‘s Rob Corddry Channels Nick Hornby

One more note on Filter. Their editor’s exodus and questionable “exclusive” claim regarding a Cat Power cover story in the latest Filter puts a tad-lame spin on an otherwise solid issue. In particular, rising Daily Show star Rob Corddry channels Nick Hornby in the brilliantly awkward “My Musical Life: A Chronology”:

Seventh Grade: I hear “Rapper’s Delight” by the Sugarhill Gang and nod, knowingly. My politics shift. I no longer laugh when people use the N-word. I vow to try and stop using it myself.

Also, Beck contributes a gushingly awkward column about his prepubescent crush on Francois Hardy, who is interviewed by outgoing editor Gregg LaGambina.
