People who attend swanky Hollywood parties already know the name larry abel / de-signs. Soirees engineered by the LA firm encompass everything from the Emmy, Grammy and Tony Awards to the Sundance Film Festival.
But starting November 19th, the hoi polloi will get to sample a little bit of Larry’s magic via a new TRON: Legacy Pop-Up Shop in Culver City. Degen Pener of The Hollywood Reporter got an exclusive sneak peak ahead of this afternoon’s full-blast press release, and based on the average price range of the quoted items, the merchandise should be well out of the reach of all but the most well-heeled CGI film fans.
Among the items for sale – some exclusive to the store – are luxury jewelry (such as the Tron Icon Necklace, by Rotenier, $2,600) and fashion items (including the Clu Hobo Bag, by Hayden-Harnett, $478, and the Qorra Couture Platform Sandal, by Jerome C. Rousseau, $795).
The store is being hosted for six weeks through the holidays by Royal-T Café, apparently something of a for-hire expert in these matters. Meanwhile, at the Facebook page for Disney Consumer Products, a “TRON” tab has been added to help build the viral buzz for the store.
