Hey, there are still signs of life at Variety after all. Just before Christmas, it was announced that The Wrap deputy editor Josh Dickey was switching to team analog, by becoming Variety‘s new film editor. Dickey will handle the paper’s film coverage as well as help to “create a more dynamic web presence.”
Behind a paywall. Yikes. Good luck with that.
The move comes just a few weeks after The Wrap‘s Sharan Waxman wrote a piece that basically danced on Variety‘s tombstone–while unapologetically loving every second of it. Looks like zombie Variety came back to bite her on this one.
