WSJ Managing Editor Robert Thomson’s Secret Twitter Account

thomsonRobertWSJ07142010.jpgCareful what you tweet: Robert Thomson, confidant to News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch and managing editor of The Wall Street Journal, is watching. Last night at the Dow Jones summer social party at 230 Fifth Ave. in Manhattan, Joe Ciarallo of our sister site PRNewser caught up with Thomson and asked him if he used the nanoblogging site:

Thomson said that while he will occasionally scan Twitter, he has a “secret” account on the service. Not even his colleagues at Dow Jones know of his Twitter handle. One of the Dow Jones PR executives tell us they’re “trying to figure out” what the secret Twitter feed’s name is.

We at FishbowlNY have taken a brief scattergun approach to try to figure out what the name could be. We’ve tried to narrow down the suspect list a little:

• @robertthomson appears to be a software designer.
• @robthomson appears to be a young man from Dallas.
• @Robert_Thomson is a writer, editor and blogger, so we’re getting warmer, but he lives in Toronto.
• @rtdowjones, @wsjrobert, @robertthomsonrules and @bestmanagingeditor do not exist.

We’re keeping our eyes peeled. Anyone with details regarding Robert Thomson’s Twitter feed should let us know. For more on PRNewser’s evening with Thomson, click on over.
