As Senior Editor of Paper, the in-house magazine for the Needs&Wants fashion label, I write, edit and layout the content for each issue. This is a blurb and photo essay from the second running which captures the tone, aesthetic, and creative flow that I bring to each issue of Paper.
For one of the cover stories of the Sept. 2013 issue of Social Life Magazine, I profiled DJ Lee Kalt. A renowned performer and music aficionado, Kalt is a major presence on the Hampton's party scene. This profile of Kalt brings his audience one step closer to knowing the man behind the music.
In the unrest that followed the murder of Freddie Gray, The city of Baltimore was nearly brought to its knees. Among the casualties, or so it seemed, were the Orioles baseball team. I write about how the team soldiered on amidst fraught circumstances in this piece.
This review of Matt Zoller Seitz's book on Wes Anderson's film, "The Grand Budapest Hotel" was published on the website of Architectural Digest magazine. I coordinated with the book's publisher and an editor at the magazine to get all the images and facts correct for this insightful review.
I researched, edited, fact-checked and published these three charts which appeared in the "Revolutions" issue of LQ. "Lending a Hand", "Lag Times" and "Revolutions per Minute" demonstrate the multi-faceted nature of the term "revolution," drawing out various meanings from a word of such import.
This tale of New York is of my drunken sojourn home one night, walking from one end of the city to the other. From the argument that spurred my impaired journey, I recount my delirium, sights, and thoughts under alcoholic influences. Champagne and ego abound.
This profile of the artisan task of sign painting is a look at a beautiful and complicated practice that is quietly fading from popular memory and view due to time and new technologies. However, the love for the hand-made may never die as my interview with a contemporary sign painter suggests.
