Borders Hires Exec Away from B&N

In a press release issued today, Borders announced that it has named Jessica J. Harley to the position of Vice President, Acquisition and Retention Marketing. She will be responsible for leading all efforts to acquire new customers and expand business with existing customers, including optimization of the company’s Borders Rewards(R) loyalty program, which has over 16 million members and continues to grow rapidly. Prior to joining Borders Group, Harley was with Barnes & Noble for approximately three years as Director of Promotions.

“Jessica is an important addition to our marketing team,” said Borders Group Chief Marketing Officer Michael Tam. “The Borders Rewards program is one of the fastest growing and largest loyalty programs in specialty retail and is a central element of our company’s growth strategies.
