With Apple iBooks and Amazon Kindle dominating the publishing headlines lately, Sony Reader returned to the news with a milestone. One lucky Sony Reader customer downloaded a copy of “The Digital Fortress,” by Dan Brown, earning the distinction of downloading the 10 millionth book from the Sony Reader Store.
Here’s more from the release: “Since its inception in September 2006, Sony’s Reader Store has included a wide offering of new releases and bestselling eBook titles for book lovers of all kinds. Today it features access to more than one million titles and links to borrow eBooks from local public libraries nationwide.”
The company also released a list of the most purchased eBooks of all time in the Sony Reader Store–dramatically different than the Kindle “bestseller” list.
