FastPencil Sees National Novel Writing Month Growth

banner_fp30days.jpgThousands of writers have just completed the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenge, and one self-publishing outfit used the writing marathon to grow their user base. During the event, FastPencil offered writers who survived a free printed copy of their novel.

To find out more, GalleyCat caught up with Steve O’Deegan, FastPencil’s VP of Sales & Marketing: “We’re extremely pleased. We’re just now starting to see submissions coming in. About five percent of our total user base came in over the last 30 days of the NaNoWriMo campaign,” he explained. “It was a really compelling event for both of us. We are both local grassroots companies.”

“We launched four-and-a-half months ago,” O’Deegan added. “Our base is growing very fast. Over Thanksgiving saw a 10 percent It’s growing substantially, and NaNoWriMo was a big part of that.” UPDATE: A previous version of this post implied a partnership that does not exist.
