FBNY @ Jon Meacham’s American Lion Party

meachbk.jpgFishbowlNY was at the launch party for Newsweek editor Jon Meacham‘s new biography of U.S. president Andrew Jackson, American Lion, which lured a slew of media power players to the magazine’s offices—and Glynnis MacNicol discovered that Jackson isn’t even Meacham’s favorite president; that would be Franklin D. Roosevelt. Other celebs who shared their favorite heads of state included Brian Williams, Tom Wolfe, and Rachel Sklar.

(We would put in a good word for Ulysses S. Grant, despite everything that went wrong with his administration, because his memoirs made him, if we remember correctly, the first former president with a national bestseller. Correct us if we’re wrong—and tell us who you would pick!)
