Today Simon & Schuster announced “a global multi-book, multi-imprint co-publishing agreement” with conservative personality Glenn Beck–a book deal that will put the television host’s literary efforts on YA bookshelves, audiobook collections, e-readers, and children’s libraries.
The FOX News and radio host will have three titles this year: adult hardcover “Arguing with Idiots,” audiobook original “America’s March Toward Socialism,” and e-book and trade paperback original “Glenn Beck’s Common Sense.” The sweeping deal was negotiated by George Hiltzik of N.S. Bienstock, and Liz Perl, Simon & Schuster’s senior VP of marketing, will coordinate promotional efforts across many imprints. Update: The WSJ has more about the economics of this new deal.
Here’s more from the release: “This multi-tiered publishing program will draw on the resources of numerous imprints at Simon & Schuster to create a comprehensive catalog including more of Beck’s unique brand of adult fiction and nonfiction as well as picture books and fiction for children, young adult literature, and eBook and audiobook originals.”
