How to Build a Literary iPhone App

Everybody talked about iPhone apps at BEA this year, but only one person taught his audience how to build a literary app.

GalleyCat caught up with Matt Supko, the developer behind the popular ABA/Indiebound app which allows readers to find local indie bookstores and browse books on their iPhone. In this exclusive video interview, Supko explains how he built the app and landed 50,000 downloads in a few action-packed months.

Supko also spoke at the excellent “7x20x21” event, a BEA presentation discussion curated by Ryan Chapman and Ami Greko. They chose seven industry professionals and gave each speaker seven minutes, the chance to choose 20 slides, and 21 seconds to talk about each picture.
