Sara Nelson Laid Off at Publishers Weekly

publishers-weekly-logo.gifAfter four years at the helm of Publishers Weekly, industry insider Sara Nelson was released from her editor spot in a round of cuts at Reed Business Information.

The restructuring will affect 7 percent of Publishers Weekly‘s parent company, the NY Times reports. The editor of School Library Journal, Brian Kenney, will now oversee both Publishers Weekly and Library Journal.

More details from the article: “Ms. Nelson, who was previously a publishing columnist for The New York Post and worked at The New York Observer and a now-defunct Web site, inside.com, is also the author of So Many Books, So Little Time: A Year of Passionate Reading.”
