The New York Times Launches the ‘Times Haiku’ Tumblr Blog

The New York Times has started a “serendipitous poetry”-themed tumblr blog called ”Times Haiku.”

A team of computer programmers developed a special algorithm that scans the publication’s articles and subsequently generates haikus.

You can read haikus derived from different NYT pieces, including an article on carrot puréea profile on stand-up comedian Colin Quinn, and a special Q&A with the Game of Thrones TV series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. According to Shelf Life, this blog may continue on even after the end of this month.

Game of Thrones Season 3 New Trailer Unveiled

HBO has released a new trailer to promote season three of Game of Thrones–what do you think? As of this writing, the video has received more than 142,900 “likes” on Facebook.

The first episode, written by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, will premiere on March 31st. A Song of Ice & Fire book series author George R.R. Martin penned the script for the seventh episode of the third season. 

The show’s official YouTube channel contains several other videos about the forthcoming new episodes including interviews with the writers and actors. As we previously noted, more than a dozen new actors have been added to the cast.

Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones Book Trailer Visits TV Set

Chronicle Books will publish the official companion to the Game of Thrones television series, Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones. Unlike most book trailers, this video visited the set of a popular TV show.

As of this writing, the trailer has received more than 36,000 views. The $40 book will be released on October 1st, containing 300 color images and photographs.

Series screenwriter Bryan Cogman write the book. Showrunner David Benioff partnered with screenwriter D.B. Weiss for the foreword. Series author George R.R. Martin also wrote a preface.
