Rob Zombie Inks Deal for Horror Novel

Rock star and movie director Rob Zombie has sold The Lords of Salem, a novel based his upcoming horror movie by the same title. Novelist B.K. Evenson will help write the book, based on Zombie’s script for the film about “a nightmarish world where the sins of Salem are paid for in today’s blood.”

Hachette Book Group’s Grand Central Publishing division will publish the book next March. The film comes out in April 2013. David Vigliano from Vigliano Associates negotiated the deal with executive editor Ben Greenberg.

Zombie explained why he wrote the book, in the release: “The book offers a different experience from the film since it can obviously go into much more detail … The book and the film really complement each other.”

Nolan Ryan to Publish Cookbook

Baseball legend Nolan Ryan will publish The Nolan Ryan Beef Cookbook with Little, Brown in 2014.

Besides holding the Guinness World Record for the fastest baseball ever thrown, the pitcher is also a rancher and cook. David Vigliano and Anthony Mattero from Vigliano Associates negotiated the deal with executive editor Michael Sand. Here’s more from the release:

But ever since he bought his first heifer at the tender age of ten, ranching has been close to Nolan Ryan’s heart.  Ryan was one of the first baseball players to sign a contract worth $1 million.  He invested his earnings in a ranch.  While still pitching for the Texas Rangers he was asked to run for Texas Commissioner of Agriculture, and during this period in his career, he started to compile his favorite beef recipes.  Ryan served on the Board of Directors of the Beefmaster Association, and while there started his own eponymous brand, Nolan Ryan’s All Natural Beef, to increase consumer awareness of the brand.

Courtney Love Lands Book Deal for Memoir

Controversial rock star Courtney Love has landed a deal with HarperCollins’ William Morrow imprint for a “tell-all” memoir. The music video embedded above features Love singing with her band, Hole.

Love will collaborate with writer Anthony Bozza on this project. In the past, Bozza has co-authored books with musical artists Tommy Lee, Slash and INXS. Deputy publisher Lynn Grady negotiated the deal with literary agent David Vigliano.

Justin Timberlake Shops Golf Book Proposal

According to the NY Observer, the pop star is working with David Vigliano–the agent behind books by celebrity authors like Shannon Doherty and Clay Aiken.
