Bluewater Productions Partners with LezGetReal.com For ‘The Big Gay Comic Book’

BIGGAYBluewater Productions has partnered with the popular LGBTQIA website LezGetReal.com. The two collaborated on a two-volume comic project entitled The Big Gay Comic Book in honor of Gay Pride Month.

Both books profile the lives of various activists and performers who have made positive contributions within the Gay Community. The first installment, which features a cover designed by artist Michael Troy, will be released on June 25th.

Publisher Darren G. Davis gave this statement in the press release: “As a publisher who happens to be gay, I also want to make sure that supporting the LGBTQ community is one of the main focuses of Bluewater. We do a lot of titles that get international attention, but I never forgot whom I am.”

Freddie Mercury Stars in Comic Book

Freddie MercuryBluewater Productions has created a biographical comic book profiling the legendary musician Freddie Mercury for their Tribute series.

Mike Lynch and Manuel Díaz worked together to pen the story. Michael Troy and Graham Hill created seven alternate exclusive covers for this project.

Here’s more from the press release: “Freddie Mercury was one of the best performers of his generation. Now read the story behind the legend. His childhood in the paradise island of Zanzibar, his exile to England, and then going on to become the front man for one of the greatest bands of all time Queen.”

Jennifer Lawrence Stars in Comic Book

FAMEJenniferLawrenceKINDLEBluewater Productions has released a comic book biography profiling Hunger Games film star Jennifer Lawrence. Writer Michael Troy penned the story and artist Ben Eargle created the interior illustrations.

According to the press release, it also “features three unique covers each exclusively through Nook, Kindle or iTunes. Iordan Terziiski illustrated the Nook cover, Kindle by Jaume Font (pictured) and iTunes cover by Ben Eargle.”

Vanity Fair has posted excerpts from the book. In the past, the indie comic publisher has released biographical comics about Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins, comedian Betty White, Apple founder Steve Jobs, former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela, and politician Ron Paul.
