Twitter Memorial for Victims of Norway Attack

Twitter and Facebook users around the world will observe a minute of silence today in memory of the 76 people killed in the horrific attack in Norway last week.

Here’s more from AllTwitter: “In an attempt to connect the world through social media, four Irish friends are trying to take their one minute of Twitter silence campaign – which they’re calling Twinute Silence – global. The organizers of Twinute Silence ask that people refrain from tweeting or posting status updates on Facebook for one minute, starting at 17:00 GMT / 12:00 ET. The #twinutesilence hashtag is being used to talk about the effort… Although it will be difficult to calculate just how many people participate in this event, the hashtag has taken off with a few tweets every minute or so.”

You can follow the online event at this hashtag. If you are unsure about the time, visit the countdown clock at the Twinute Silence page.
