Yiddish Language Book Featured on Kickstarter

Writer Moshe Sherizen hopes to raise $2,600 on Kickstarter to fund the printing costs for his publishing project, The Easy-Shmeezy Guide to Yiddish. Sherizen’s book contains 2000 Yiddish words and expressions, tips on having real life conversations and Yiddish songs and proverbs. We’ve embedded a video about the project above–what do you think?

Here’s more about the project: “The Easy-Shmeezy Guide to Yiddish uses my guaranteed, fool-proof ‘J.E.T.’ System. In it I teaches how to: ‘J’ump into the language and begin speaking right away. As you get comfortable, you can then…’E'xpand your vocabulary and learn more. Once you feel very comfortable, then go out and…’T'alk to others! Speak Yiddish with confidence – like a true Yiddishist (they’ll think you’re from the Bund).”

Welcome to our Kickstarter Publishing Project of the Week, a feature exploring how authors and publishers are using the fundraising site to raise money for book projects. If you want to start your own project, check out How To Use Kickstarter to Fund Your Publishing Project.
