The PRWeek Blog Competition is being more fiercely contested than we initially expected. The small were mixed with the large, in no apparent order. The 16 blogs chosen by the publication were allowed to nominate the other 16 in the bracket. It's turned in to a game of get out the vote, squeeze your rolodex dry of every last drop of support.

The Goliath-slaying Drew Kerr and Kami Huyse each toppled their respective Edelman bloggers in round one. Huyse knocked out CEO Richard Edelman's 6 AM, and Kerr knocked out mega socializer Steve Rubel. Kerr and Huyse are currently facing each other in round two. Kerr was quietly pulling away last night till something happened, and she surged ahead. Perhaps my Tweet alerted her to the threat.

In the meantime, we got a hold of one of the email blitzes being sent out to garner support, from the Lois Paul & Partners blog Beyond the Hype (currently pummeling Jeremy Pepper's POP! PR Jots 66% to 34%):
