Michael Levine on PR and Social Media: ‘It’s Hard to Talk to People When They’re Drunk’
In our final Media Beat installment with Michael Levine, founder of LCO – Levine Communications Office, we turn our attention to social media. Levine believes social media must be integrated with other PR efforts, but that many are “intoxicated” by it as well.
“It’s very hard to talk to people when they’re drunk,” he says. “When people are drunk, they’re not doing a lot of listening.”
While there’s excitement around social media, many people much less enthusiastic about the glut of awards shows that now take place. “A lot of young people don’t give a rat’s ass about awards shows because they’re on Facebook,” Levine says.
