Get ready for a lot more chatter about NBC on Facebook and other social networks. At least the network is hoping that will be one of the results of its new social media initiative, “Fan It,” which launched today.
The program, tied to NBC’s upfront presentation, rewards people for watching NBC content online, “liking” content on Facebook, and recruiting friends to do the same.
“What better way to spread the word about our shows than with the help of our loyal fans,” Adam Stotsky, president, NBC Entertainment told our sibling blog WebNewser, who reported on the initiative pre-launch.
Here’s a possible add-on for NBC’s PR department: highlight participants who have amassed the most rewards as part of the network’s PR efforts around the new program.
