One thing we’ve noticed at PRNewser over time is that some PR pros are really good at going “off the record” or dropping tips to reporters and some are, well, bad at it, or don’t do it at all.

One agency we spoke with recently said they advise clients to never go off the record with the media, as it is just too risky. The agency said, however, that they will sometimes go off the record on behalf of their clients.
