Roll Call: H+K Strategies, Rubenstein, HvM and Lawrence

Hill+Knowlton Strategies hired veteran Lisa Cradit as SVP/corporate advisory practice leader in its New York office. Cradit has worked in strategic communications for more than two decades; she most recently served as director of public relations and communications at First Reserve, an energy-focused private equity firm. Before that, she spent 17 years in the tech industry–a stint that included comms positions at L-1 Identity Solutions, Financial Dynamics (now FTI Consulting) and boutique tech product agency Fitzgerald Communications (now an Omnicom company).

Claire Koeneman, interim general manager of H+K’s New York office and head of the firm’s U.S. financial communications practice, said that Cradit’s extensive “hands-on experience” will be “a tremendous asset to our clients – and to her new colleagues.”

Rubenstein Public Relations hired Jodie Thomas and Kristie Galvani as vice presidents. Thomas most recently served as associate VP of entertainment at 5W PR, where she managed press campaigns for artists ranging from Irish group Clannad to The Wiggles (yes, those Wiggles) and clients as disparate as Broadway.com and D’Angelico guitars. Before joining 5W, Thomas worked as director of PR Decca/Universal Music Group. In her new role, Thomas–a College of Charleston graduate–will execute and develop campaigns for clients in RPR’s entertainment division.

Galvani previously worked as EVP at HMJT PR, serving clients across business sectors. As VP at RPR, she will handle accounts within the firm’s lifestyle division, raising brand awareness for such clients as BioHitech America, Experian Marketing Services and more. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from York College of Pennsylvania, where she majored in Mass Communications with a special focus on Public Relations and Advertising.

Public Relations professional Marni Raitt has accepted a Vice President position with HvM Communications, a boutique PR agency that focuses primarily on consumer-facing products and services, including fashion, beauty, wellness, business, design, law, real estate, internet companies, consumer products and philanthropic organizations.  Clients include Children’s Health Fund, Vinous Media, The Organic Pharmacy, WubbaNub and the Lunch 4 Learning campaign.

For the past two years, Marni has been a VP at DiGennaro Communications handling media relations and other duties for various advertising agencies. Before joining DGC in May 2012, Marni ran freelance consultancy First Raitt Communications; previously, she was a Senior Communications Manager for Phil & Co., an agency that leads the marketing and communications efforts for non-profit and philanthropic organizations. Prior to moving to New York in September 2009, Marni spent two years as the Assistant Director of Public Relations for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and three years as a Marketing Account Manager at Quicken Loans.  She began her PR career with a year at Miramax Films followed by a five year stint at Disney/ABC Cable Networks Group in Los Angeles. Marni earned a dual BA in English and Communications from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Portland’s Lawrence PR announced the addition of Katie Schoen to its roster as vice president. Schoen previously worked with Lawrence owner/president Angie Galimanis at LANE PR and brings nearly a decade of experience to the role. In her new position, she will manage accounts and provide strategic counsel to the clients across sectors from lifestyle to B2B. Prior to joining Lawrence, Schoen served as senior account advisor at Edelman, where she led comms initiatives for client Kashi (including its 2014 Winter Olympics sponsorship).

Galimanis writes, “Katie brings a wealth of experience with a broad range of local and national clients, and her insightful approach will be of great value to our clients.”
