Havas: Digital Drove 2011 Revenue Increase, 5.9 Percent Organic Growth

Havas announced its 2011 earnings yesterday, with revenue totaling about €1.65 billion ($2.17 billion according to today’s conversion rate). That’s a 5.6 percent increase from the previous year total of €1.56 billion. Organic growth was at 5.9 percent for the year, and income from operations was €220 million ($290.6 million). That’s a jump from €204 million in operating income in 2010.

Revenue from digital and social media work was up 23 percent for the year. Among the 2011 digital and social media wins were Panasonic and The Economist for Havas Digital USA and Mexico Tourism for Havas Digital Global.

The earnings announcement also highlighted 16 percent revenue gains in the emerging markets of Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Gollust and Pilot to Leave NBC After Acquisition

Comcast has announced the leadership team that will be in place once  its acquisition of NBC Universal is complete. As we’ve reported previously, comms and PR chief Allison Gollust will be leaving the company and Adam Miller, former president of Abernathy MacGregor, will join Comcast. NBC’s sales and marketing head Mike Pilot will also be leaving the company. Pilot and Gollust will step down at the close of the transaction.

Among the other changes, CEO Jeff Zucker will depart the company and Lauren Zalaznick will become chairman, NBC Universal Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media. Bravo, Oxygen, iVillage, Daily Candy, the Integrated Strategic Marketing Group, and other properties will report to her. The Integrated Strategic Marketing Group includes Green is Universal, Women at NBC Universal, and other initiatives.

Time Warner Hires Journalist Richard Siklos

Journalist Richard Siklos is joining Time Warner as VP of corporate affairs, responsible for external communications and media strategy. Previously, Siklos served as editor-at-large for Fortune, media reporter for The New York Times, and media editor for BusinessWeek. Most recently, he wrote a column for the New York Observer while writing a book about Michael Jackson. Siklos will report to Gary Ginsberg, EVP of corporate affairs and marketing.

On Friday, Comcast announced that Abernathy MacGregor president Adam Miller would be joining the company as a senior adviser.

Abernathy MacGregor President Heads to Comcast

Adam Miller, president of Abernathy MacGregor, will be heading to Comcast as senior adviser. Miller has been working with Comcast as it negotiates its deal with NBC Universal. Miller has also worked on financial and corporate communications matters for companies such as Yahoo and Viacom.

In addition, Chuck Berger and Winnie Lerner, MDs with the firm, have been named co-presidents; Lex Suvanto, another MD with the firm, is now COO (sub req’d); and MD Ian Campbell is now vice chairman.

Havas Reports 22.5 Percent Increase in Net Income for H1 2010

Havas reported its interim 2010 numbers today, announcing a 22.5 percent jump in net income to $62.2 million compared with the first half of 2009. (All figures are converted from Euros based on today’s currency rates.) Revenue is also up 4.2 percent over last year to $925.1 million. Net financial debt was also down nearly 28 percent for the half.
