Geisser Joins Bravo Media as SVP of Comms

Jennifer Geisser has been appointed SVP of communications at Bravo Media, managing the comms for programming, digital, and merchandising efforts. She will report to Frances Berwick, president of Bravo Media and Cameron Blanchard, EVP of communications at NBCUniversal Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media.

Previously, Geisser owned Geisser Media, a firm specializing in branding, special events, corp comms, product launches, and partnerships. She’s also held SVP positions at the Hallmark Channel and Court TV (now Tru TV).

NBCUniversal Division Has Three New EVPs

The NBCUniversal Entertainment and Digital Networks and Integrated Media division (E&DN/IM), a newly created area of the company, has three new EVPs. NBCU E&DN/IM includes Telemundo, Oxygen Media, Bravo Media, Daily Candy, and the Integrated Strategic Marketing group, which is made up of Green is Universal, Women at NBCU, and other divisions.

Cameron Blanchard has been promoted to EVP of communications, serving as the lead spokesperson for the division and responsible for overseeing strategic comms and media relations for the division. She was previously SVP of comms for NBC Universal Women & Lifestyle Entertainment Networks Communications, handling comms and outreach for Bravo Media and Oxygen Media. She has also worked with NBC Entertainment East Coast Communications, the NBC Sports and Olympic division, and other areas of the NBC network for more than 10 years.

Bravo’s Stone: We Want to Be ‘Game-Changing… But Not Take Total Risk’

For Bravo Media, it’s all about buzz, taking trends mainstream, and bringing fashion to the entertainment industry, according to Ellen Stone, SVP of marketing. She gave the keynote address at PR + MKTG Camp East in New York on Thursday.

Stone characterized Bravo’s goal as, “Waking up the entertainment industry to get the conversation started, and wanting the conversation to repeat back.”

She outlined four tenets of Bravo’s buzz model: think in headlines;  partnerships; innovate; measure.
