NBC Show About a PR Firm Was a Flop

Photo: Dean Hendler, NBC

NBC comedy Free Agents, the British import about a wacky PR firm with Hank Azaria and office sex, has been cancelled. The show has been losing viewers ever since it began airing September 14. And we had such high hopes, although even we forgot to watch.

Azaria tried to drum up support for the show by tweeting tune-in reminders. He then went on to thank NBC and the viewers for giving the show a chance. Azaria also voices a number of characters on The Simpsons, which may also meet its end over a money dispute with the actors.

NBC has also already cancelled The Playboy Club, which we did stumble upon a couple of times and we can confirm: It was really bad.

Set Your DVR: ‘Free Agents’ Is Coming

The Brits know how to do comedy. Not that Americans don’t. (The only evidence you’ll ever need.)  But seriously. When the two worlds collide, magic can happen. Most of the time.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed for the latest comedy to come here from the great U.K. beyond– Free Agents will star Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn and is set in a PR agency. Alessandra Stanley gives the show a mostly decent review, but we’re thinking comedy gold! If the clip above looks anything like the antics at your office, please use the Anonymous Tip box on the upper right of the screen to let us know.
