DiGennaro Communications has appointed Howard Schacter the agency’s first-ever president, effective immediately. Schacter was previously the marketing and PR head for Steve & Barry’s (the clothing retailer that liquidated in 2008) and led corporate communications for Live Nation when it was called SFX/Clear Channel Entertainment.

Update: The firm has also announced that Melanie Wells, a former Forbes Media executive editor, will be joining the firm in January as MD, chief content officer. Wells will develop a new strategic thought leadership division.
