Sweet Pea Kitchens, an Oregon bakery responsible for “homemade, gluten free, all natural dog treats”, has retained Paws PR, the pet-centric division of P Jones Communications Inc. with offices in New York and Baltimore. Paws will work on a national re-launch including a new logo and packaging design as well as strategic communications consulting surrounding the brand’s expansion into the wholesale market.

The origin story is every bit as good as expected: after a vet put mother-daughter team Maureen and Devon Lake’s labradoodle Keira on a strict diet, they started baking their own alternative to store-bought treats and eventually founded their own company.

No word yet on how much more adorable the dogs that eat Sweet Pea products will grow up to be, but we’ll be the first to let you know as soon as we can pull ourselves away from the Emergency Puppy Twitter feed.
