Bright and Early, with CBS' Smith

CBS anchor Harry Smith is a late-riser — he's been getting to the Pepsi Center for The Early Show broadcast at about 3:30amMT. With that early call time, and getting back to the convention for the prime time speeches, it makes for a long day.

But Smith told us a way he unwinds during the afternoon — biking. Yesterday he took a 30-mile ride out of the city. Luckily, being a Denver anchor in the 1980s, he knows the terrain.

TVNewser caught up with Smith just after The Early Show broadcast this morning to talk conventions, morning news, the "seven hours of the Today show" and more:
