A Supreme Drops by ‘Nightly News’

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, whose new book Making Our Democracy Work: A Judge’s View comes out tomorrow, stopped by NBC Nightly News today.

Among other things, Brian Williams asked Justice Breyer about the landmark Bush v. Gore decision 10 years ago this fall.

WILLIAMS: Do you think Bush v. Gore hurt the credibility of the modern Court?

BREYER: Yes

WILLIAMS: Irreparably?

BREYER: No.

WILLIAMS: For How long?

BREYER: I don’t know. That’s up to historians. I thought that the– the decision, I was in dissent. I– I obviously thought the majority was wrong.

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos interviews Breyer tomorrow on “Good Morning America.” Also on GMA: FNC’s Bill O’Reilly discussing his new book.
