Barbara Walters’ Heart Surgery Successful

Barbara Walters underwent heart valve replacement surgery on Wednesday, and doctors say the procedure was a success. Walter’s spokesperson released a statement today saying:

Barbara Walters’ surgery went well and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome. Ms. Walters is recovering as expected. No further statements will be made at this time.

Walters announced plans to have the surgery on “The View” on Monday, explaining I have known of this condition for a while now and my doctors and I have decided that this is the best time to do the surgery.”
