BBC World Coming To Cablevision

“BBC World News recently reached agreement to be carried by Cablevision in the U.S. (New York area) in late April,” a tipster said two weeks ago. Today, Cablevision confirmed it.

It’s the “first major affiliate distribution deal in the U.S.” for the BBC, and it comes “just two months after BBC World Ltd. announced a partnership agreement with Discovery to distribute the 24-hour channel in the U.S.,” Cablevision said in a press release today.

“Later this month, BBC World News will be available to all iO: Interactive Optimum digital cable customers throughout Cablevision’s New York metropolitan service area.”
