Brian Williams to Report from Afghanistan

brianw10-26.jpgNBC “Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams will return to Afghanistan this week. He will file a report for tomorrow’s “Nightly News” broadcast and will report live starting Wednesday through the rest of the week.

Williams posted on the Daily Nightly blog this evening: “I am en route to Afghanistan tonight. We are going there to report on the military and political situation. Our reporting from the field will begin on tomorrow evening’s broadcast. Today’s sobering news and staggering loss of life has certainly forced us to re-check our logistical planning, and we are confident that we have the correct plans in place.”

Richard Engel and Adrienne Mong will also provide special reports. This is Williams’ second trip.

B&C’s Marisa Guthrie also reports that Williams will keep his previously scheduled commitment to appear on “The Jay Leno Show” Wednesday, where he will be doing a live segment via satellite from an American-controlled compound.
