Campbell Brown Leaves NBC
Campbell Brown bid farewell to NBC after 11 years with the peacock. In her goodbye this morning on Today Brown said, “I’m making some decisions right now that I think make a lot of sense for me and my family. I’m not going away, though. I’m going to be pursuing a new opportunity in television that I’ll talk about at a later time…” TVNewser has confirmed Brown is heading to CNN, but the timing of that move may be delayed after Brown announced she and her husband are expecting their first child.
Brown rose through the correspondent ranks at the local level, to the affiliate service to the network news division, eventually co-anchoring Weekend Today and becomming Brian Williams’ primary substitute on Nightly News.
“I’ve been at NBC for almost my whole career, and it has been home to me for a long time,” Brown said, “The people here are like family.”
