Chuck Todd: ‘If They Choose To Get Slower News, What Are We Supposed To Do?’

Maddow ToddDuring MSNBC’s election coverage last night, some results got to viewers at home, before it got to those celebrating at the candidate’s headquarters.

MSNBC had already called the Virginia Governor’s race for Terry McCauliffe, so when Rachel Maddow asked Chuck Todd how the crowd at McCauliffe headquarters was responding to his victory, Todd joked that because they were watching “another channel” there was no response.

“Word hasn’t trickled in— their watching another channel, I’ll just leave it at that, Rachel. If they choose to get slower news, what are we supposed to do?”

What was the mystery network the crowd was watching? Todd might have been mum, but the wide shot behind Todd gives the answer: CNN.
