With the end of the year approaching, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone on the staff of Headline News for a terrific year. The network has experienced record ratings growth across the board, making it the fastest growing network of any cable news channel in both total day and prime time. When you see numbers like up 65% in total viewers and up 56% in adults 25-54, it can make your eyes glaze over. However, you should all take great pride in knowing that this is about 50% more growth than any other news network. In fact, for the first time ever, we are now tied with MSNBC in the younger demo for the year.

The incomparable Nancy Grace has led the network, tripling the previous audience and making it the fastest growing show in television news for the year. Meanwhile, we are seeing tremendous growth across all dayparts – nearly every hour of the week has attracted more viewers than last year. And that is something you should be extremely proud of.

In the beginning of this year we launched a brand new format and prime-time lineup, and, yes, there were quite a few skeptics. I'm thrilled that the viewers have responded so positively to this change. We managed to blend a network of fast-paced, relevant unadulterated news during the day with longer, distinct programs at night. And it has worked. This is not just attracting more viewers, but more younger viewers. In fact, Headline News has the youngest audience of any news network on the air.
