CNN’s Foreign Correspondent Atia Abawi joins NBC

Atia Abawi joined NBC as a freelance journalist who will produce and provide on-air reports for NBC News from Afghanistan, an NBC spokesperson tells TVNewser.

Hired by CNN in January of last year, Abawi was reporting in Afghanistan for the network. A CNN spokesperson tells TVNewser they “wish her well with her career.”

Abawi’s Facebook affiliation is NBC News, and @atiaabawi tweeted yesterday:
